Students at Brooklawn Middle School recently took to the microphone to discuss New Jersey’s new bell-to-bell cell phone ban and how the policy has been going since its implementation. What surprised us most? It’s going better than expected!
Through their podcast, students shared their perspectives on the policy, the challenges of adjusting to fewer phone distractions, and the impact it has had on their school day. Their reflections offered a valuable look at how students are adapting, connecting with one another, and navigating a school environment with fewer digital distractions.
At Brooklawn, we believe student voice matters. Giving students the opportunity to share their honest feedback helps us better understand their experiences and celebrate the positive steps they are taking. While any new policy comes with an adjustment period, it’s encouraging to hear students reflect on how well things are going!
